Optical Character Recognizer (Reader) is the name given to a software which converts the scanned text into computer readable form.
After conversion, the text can be used in different applications.
Advantages:
It is much faster than manual keying.
The number of errors is very less because no manual keying is here.
Disadvantages:
It has difficulty in reading handwriting.
It is not very accurate technique.
